Hackney Depot is a refurbishment of a beautiful but long derelict property. The building is dedicated to makers, crafters and grafters and a pushback against the continued erosion of maker space/light industrial in Hackney and throughout London. Hackney Depot is a prime example of reduce, reuse, recycle ethos and operates to high ethical and sustainable standards. Adjacent to Broadway Market, Hackney Depot supports local creatives and makers in a shared ambition to shape the creative industry into a more mutually suportive, responsible and inclusive whole.
Hackney Depot has put a huge emphasis on sustainable processes and methods, starting with the reuse and repair of an existing derelict space down to its collaboration with exclusively local and ecologically minded vendors.
